Autism Friendly Spinning Carousel

Is your little one like mine? Do they love to spin? Do they love to wobble to get feedback? 

Our children have Autism and ADHD and they love to swing, rock, climb, be active - in fact very rarely sit still! If they find a 'spinny chair' they're in it for hours. If they find a spinny stool they're laid on it going round and round. I'd love to know how it doesn't make them go dizzy!

But for them, it's the feedback, it's the motion, it's their need to regulate, it's their need to quieten whats going on around them and it's their time to zone out for a few minutes or hours knowing that the world can come and meet them for a bit.

When your child is like that, as parents it takes time to be able to stand back and watch, to let them do what they need to do. Your natural instinct is to stop them, to protect them just in case they fall off and in some cases to stop watching to avoid yourself getting motion sickness!
